Thompson Falls is a 74m(24ft) scenic fall on the Ewaso Nyiro Narok river. This drains from the Aberdare mountain range. The fall is located in Nyahururu in, at 2,360m (7750ft) elevation, the fall is beautiful and has one of the biggest hippo pools .It’s possible to view the falls from above, and there is also a trail down to the bottom of the ravine. The Thomson’s falls derives its name from Joseph Thomson, a naturalist and geologist from Scotland who discovered it in 1887.On the way to Thompson falls you pass through the Equator.The walk to Thomson fall is an incredible experience.

They are named after the Britain’s first proconsul of east Africa, captain Lugard; the lugards falls are in fact rapids where Galana River disappears into a rocky gorge so narrow at one part that it’s possible to stand astride the cleft with the falls below. The beauty of the site is the multicolored rocks carved over centuries by water and taking fantastic shapes.
Fourteen falls is located about 65km away from Nairobi off Thika –Garissa road turning at Makutano junction. The fallsderived the name from their fourteen successive falls of water along the famous Athi river ,border between Thika and Machakos District.There is a lot to do while in this amazing scenic site.
Things to do
Karura falls drop down 272 meters opposite Gura falls. The two falls, Gura and Karura are situated across the valley from one another, both are said to be three-tiered waterfalls and are both claimed to be the tallest waterfalls in Kenya. Only the uppermost drop of this waterfall can be seen easily, the rest of the falls looks to only be visible from across the wide valley, or from the air.
Shedrick falls is a beautiful breathtaking wonderful water fall in the heart of Shimba National park of rolling meadows, farmland and tropical rainforest’s. A guided walk to the falls is full of adventure. The falls were discovered by David Shedrick. Its two hours walk from the park to this spectacular falls which supply Tiwi and Diani with water.
